1st International Chess Day Tournament

International Chess Day Event This was organized on the occasion of International Chess Day, with the objective of promoting chess at the grassroots level and encouraging more children and young players to take up the sport. The event brought together chess enthusiasts from different age groups and provided young players with an opportunity to compete, learn, and gain valuable tournament experience in a competitive yet encouraging environment. The celebration featured a Blitz Chess Tournament, conducted under FIDE rules, along with special awards and recognition for players across different categories. The tournament included Open, Under-10, Under-14, Under-18 and Girls categories, along with special recognitions such as Youngest Player, Best Veteran and Best Divyang Player. Special Top 3 School Awards were also included to encourage schools to actively promote chess. Alongside the tournament, a Chess Camp was conducted to help young participants improve their understanding of the game and learn important chess concepts under the guidance of experienced coaches. With 20+ trophies and 35+ medals, the event aimed not only to recognize winners but also to celebrate participation and encourage more children to continue their chess journey. The event was a significant step towards building a stronger chess culture in Bhadohi and the surrounding region, providing players with greater visibility, competitive exposure and opportunities to grow in the sport. Bhadohi Chess Association remains committed to taking chess to every corner of the district and creating more opportunities for children to learn, compete and excel through chess. with 250+ Participants the event achieved it's objective, here are some glimpse from the tournament.
